We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Production Manager to join our thriving Newport News plant. This role is a unique blend of production management and lean manufacturing, providing an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on our operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of production planning, ensuring adherence to food safety and sanitation standards, and driving continuous improvement in our processes.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage all aspects of production planning, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to production schedules.
• Implement and maintain robust food safety and sanitation protocols in line with HACCP and SQF standards.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve overall operational efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with GMPs, maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety throughout the production process.
• Develop and manage budgets, financial forecasts, and production cost analyses, providing regular reports to senior management.
• Foster a culture of lean manufacturing, promoting best practices and driving operational excellence.
• Collaborate closely with other departments, including Quality Control, Supply Chain, and Human Resources, to ensure seamless operations and achieve shared objectives.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements, leveraging this knowledge to drive continuous improvement and innovation in our production processes.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience working as a Production Manager and/or Plant Manager.
• Demonstrated expertise in production planning, food safety, sanitation, HACCP, and SQF.
• Extensive experience working in the food & beverage space, preferably in the dairy industry.
• Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Proven experience with GMPs and a strong understanding of regulatory requirements within the dairy industry.
• Excellent financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis.
• Exceptional leadership skills, with a proven ability to motivate, inspire, and develop a high-performing team.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the organization.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.
