Position Overview Autodesk is seeking a highly experienced and visionary Senior Principal Cloud Architect to define and govern our public cloud strategy and execution. This role involves shaping our cloud infrastructure to ensure scalability, security, reliability, and cost-efficiency across our products and services. You will be the expert for our public cloud environments, primarily focusing on Amazon Web Services (AWS), with significant involvement in Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Your leadership will drive our cloud-first initiatives and ensure our platforms meet evolving business and customer needs. Our engineering culture empowers you to make effective decisions, collaborate, and take accountability for projects at the core of our company and at the forefront of industry technology trends. This position is remote for US-based candidates. Candidates must be willing to travel for Autodesk events and meetings. Responsibilities Define and promote the overall public cloud architecture vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned with Autodesk's business objectives. Lead the technical architecture for our AWS environment, providing guidance on design, deployment, and operations. Provide architectural leadership for our GCP environment, ensuring consistency and optimization. Develop and maintain reference architectures, design patterns, and standards for cloud deployments, ensuring security and compliance. Establish and enforce cloud governance, security standards, and compliance frameworks. Optimize cloud spending for cost-effectiveness and resource efficiency. Design scalable, resilient, and fault-tolerant cloud solutions for global operations. Collaborate with security teams to implement robust security architectures. Evaluate new cloud technologies and recommend adoption based on business needs. Partner with engineering and security teams, communicating complex concepts effectively. Provide mentorship and technical leadership to other cloud architects and teams. Lead resolution of complex cloud issues and support during critical incidents. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. 10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, focusing on cloud architecture and engineering. Deep experience with AWS architecture, design, and implementation. Hands-on experience with GCP architecture and services. Familiarity with Microsoft Azure is a plus. Proven ability to develop cloud governance and security best practices. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. AWS Solutions Architect Certification (required). GCP certifications (e.g., Professional Cloud Architect) are highly desirable. Compensation includes base salary, bonuses, stock grants, and benefits.
