Description A trusted leader in cloud, digital engineering, data, and Artificial Intelligence, the nation looks to SAIC to integrate emerging technology to modernize critical missions and enable its national imperatives. To address the growing demands within the Department of Defense, SAIC is seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Scrum Master to support the data, analytics, digital, and AI capabilities of our Digital and AI Team. As we embark on a new initiative leading the design, solutioning, and operations of integrated Enterprise IT solutions, we are dedicated to delivering world-class AI-enabled capabilities and enabling data-driven decision making to global missions across the Department, Services, and Combatant Commands. The Ideal candidate will be adept at managing customer relationships, driving operational excellence, and fostering continuous improvement across all service areas in a global environment. Core Responsibilities: Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, Agile team, and line management. Ensures that the agreed Agile process is being followed, facilitating Agile ceremonies, and removing impediments to progress. Leads and coaches the Agile team, working closely with the customer(s), engineers, and other contracts to ensure successful completion of sprints per the government’s requirements, influencing and driving decision making. Works closely with the Product Owner(s) to maintain the product backlog and help the team improve processes and communication for high performance and continuous improvement. Responsible for assigned projects, tasks, and activities throughout projects’ lifecycles; providing status updates and resolving problems, issues, or conflicts; and ensuring that program schedule, costs, performance, and deliverables are met. Manages the process for how information is exchanged; improves interactions and team dynamics; and arranges and facilitates team meetings, planning sessions, sprint retrospective, etc. Clears obstacles and protects the team from outside interruptions and distractions. Establishes environments where the team can be effective and successful throughout the lifecycle of a project. Facilitates and ensures the completion of applicable testing, verification, application transition, and deployment via the Scrum Process. Develops and maintains project documentation, including schedules, sprint updates, test reports/procedures, customer use cases, etc. Manages and communicates project backlog, working closely with internal/external stakeholders to resolve in a timely manner. Works closely with the customers, users, and engineering teams to continuously discover and recommend projects for backlog prioritization. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s and two (2) years or more experience; Master’s and zero (0) year experience in designated field. Experience may be considered in lieu of degree. Professional Scrum Master (PSM) or Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification. Experience using Agile project management tools, such as Jira and Agile frameworks (preferably SAFe). Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills. Strong time management skills to ensure ceremonies are done efficiently and within time box. Must be resourceful in removing scrum team roadblocks. Servant leadership mentality to drive discussion and input from all members of the scrum team. Ability to understand complex technical concepts and present them in simple terms to non-technical team members, customers, and users. Must be willing to work collaboratively in a global team environment, managing multiple assignments. Ability to support, enforce, and contribute to the Agile practices adopted by the government customer and development teams. US citizenship and Secret security clearance is required. Must be able to obtain, or maintain, the security clearance as required. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a DoD environment supporting Combatant Commands and Joint Staff in an enterprise IT environment, across multiple domains and various clearance levels. Demonstrated experience in implementing IT innovation and modernization initiatives within the DoD environment, including transitioning to modern frameworks and technologies. Proven track record of effectively implementing IT services that enhance organizational efficiency and mission effectiveness in the DoD context. Experience managing and leading globally dispersed staff with varied skill levels in an Agile environment.
