The Medical Director will provide medical leadership for medical affairs strategy, planning, and support for the assigned asset, including new indications or approvals. Under the supervision of the Senior Medical Director, this role involves collaborating with key stakeholders to develop and execute medical affairs plans, such as post-marketing research, medical education, advisory boards, real-world evidence, data generation, and scientific communication/publications. The Medical Director will leverage expertise in Neuroscience and Alzheimer's disease to inform product strategies and engage with external stakeholders to enhance Eisai's medical reputation in the disease community. This role also includes approval of scientific content for relevant materials.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and refine medical strategies based on real-time insights, providing critical input for lifecycle management.
  2. Lead the development of medical congress presentations and ongoing real-world evidence studies.
  3. Create educational assets for Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs).
  4. Serve as a medical leader and subject matter expert for external and internal stakeholders.
  5. Guide the medical and scientific content approval process for relevant materials.
  6. Incorporate scientific trends and treatment landscape insights through external activities and monitoring MSL insights.
  7. Liaise with external stakeholders to gather feedback and strengthen Eisai's reputation in the disease community.
  8. Manage financial planning, vendor relations, timelines, and resource assessments for programs within scope.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, MD, DO) in Neuroscience with substantial industry experience.
  • Experience in pharma/biotech, preferably in Medical Affairs in a strategic role.
  • Experience in Alzheimer's disease or related fields is highly preferred.
  • Practical knowledge of FDA regulations and ICH guidelines.
  • Leadership experience with management responsibilities at a country or large-region level.

Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) and 10+ years of relevant experience. Experience in the Life Sciences industry is preferred.

Eisai Salary Transparency Language: The base salary range for the Medical Director, US Medical Affairs, Neurology is from $217,000 to $284,800. This position is eligible for participation in Eisai Inc.'s Annual Incentive Plan & Long Term Incentive Plan. Final pay depends on experience, education, knowledge, and skills.
