Job Description

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing team of six, including two managers, across marketing and business development functions.
  • Develop and execute the departments strategic plan aligned with the firms strategic plan.
  • Collaborate with the COO and firm leadership to identify growth opportunities and measure impact.
  • Develop and manage firms marketing operations budget.

Pitch, Proposal & RFP Management

  • Oversee the end-to-end process for pitches, proposals, and RFPs, ensuring timely, strategic, and high-quality submissions.
  • Provide coaching and support to attorneys on client presentations and business development meetings.
  • Ensure the firm's client and prospect database is current and accurate, including mailing lists and business development/RFP data.

Public Relations & Communications

  • Direct the firms PR strategy, including media relations, press releases, and external communications.
  • Ensure consistent messaging across all channels and platforms.
  • Ensure the quality and accuracy of all written content including ad copy, brochures, RFPs, website content, and press releases.

Client Engagement & Development

  • Manage client-facing programs such as client interviews, collaborative business growth dinners, and other client feedback initiatives.
  • Partner with attorneys to deepen client relationships and identify cross-marketing opportunities.
  • Manage Interlaw relationship and related opportunities.

Rankings & Directories

  • Oversee submissions for key rankings including Chambers, 40 Under 40, Legal 500, WTR 1000, etc.
  • Track and analyze outcomes to inform future strategy and identify new ranking opportunities.

Digital & E-Marketing

  • Oversee the firms digital presence, including website content, newsletters, alerts, press releases, social media, and announcements.
  • Ensure alignment with brand standards and strategic goals.

Events & Sponsorships

  • Oversee firm sponsorships and events that support client development and brand visibility.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure successful execution.

Alumni Program

  • Lead the firms alumni engagement strategy, including communications, events, and relationship-building initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in legal or professional services marketing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage complex projects, and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Strong writing, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Deep understanding of professional services firm operations, client service, and business development best practices.
