Position: Construction Superintendent (Union Position)
Company: FCI Construction, Auburn, Indiana
Position Requirements:
Proven experience as a Construction Superintendent, Foreman, or in a similar supervisory role.
Strong understanding of construction processes and/or proficiency in construction management software.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in fast-paced, changing environments.
Solid knowledge of OSHA construction safety regulations and best practices across a variety of project scopes.
In-depth understanding of construction methods, means, practices, and processes.
A problem-solving mindset focused on delivering high-quality solutions that meet the needs of both FCI and our partners.
Position Overview:

1. Collaboration
Work effectively as part of a team including field labor, management, design teams, and owners. Success depends on your ability to foster collaboration across all project stakeholders.
Key Areas of Focus:
Labor Management: Lead and support field teams to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and within project goals.
Subcontractor Management: Maintain strong working relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure they meet schedule, quality, and safety expectations.
Owner Relationships: Communicate regularly with owners to keep them informed and engaged, ensuring their satisfaction and comfort throughout the project.
2. Documentation
Maintain thorough, timely project documentation to protect project outcomes and minimize risks. This includes:
Daily field reports
Safety documentation
Email correspondence
Field condition updates
Short-term and look-ahead schedules
Key Areas of Focus:
Cost Control Documentation: Track project costs and expenses accurately to manage budgets and identify potential risks.
Scheduling: Document and manage schedules for both self-performed work and subcontractors, ensuring timely project delivery.
Planning & Foresight: Anticipate challenges and proactively plan to avoid delays caused by manpower, material, or equipment issues.
3. Conflict Resolution
Address conflicts promptly and professionally with the goal of finding solutions that protect FCI’s short- and long-term interests while fostering teamwork and collaboration.
