Salary:

The Carpenter will use woodworking skills to build and repair various structures and equipment within the multifamily portfolio.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Repairs and replaces damaged fixtures including decks, trim, framing, handrails, siding, and other framework.
• Installs doors, windows, cabinets, and other structures.
• Operates all necessary tools to complete a job.
• Prepares and dismantles scaffolding as needed.
• Ensures tools and equipment are properly cleaned, stored, and maintained for optimum performance and safety.
• Estimates equipment, tool, and material requirements.
• Ensure all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.
• Collaborates with maintenance and community managers to complete projects on time and within budget.
• May perform painting as needed.
• Performs other maintenance duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• Minimum of three (3) years of relative carpentry experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Demonstrates strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
• Proficient in using hand and power tools.
• Possesses a general knowledge of various trades, including carpentry, tiling, painting, and drywalling, as well as light plumbing and electrical work.
• Understands carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction.
• Ability to take accurate measurements and calculations.
• Strong knowledge of building codes and safety regulations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Interacts positively with a diverse range of tenants, coworkers, management, and office staff.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• Must maintain a valid drivers license to operate a company vehicle.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
• Must be able to squat, lift, stretch, and bend in order to reach all areas of the facility.
• Must be able to work in and on overhead structures, as well as below machinery.
• May be exposed to extreme conditions (hot or cold).
• Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
