Staff Accountant Schedule: Monday–Thursday On-Site | Friday Remote Qualifications & Skills Experience: Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience required Maritime industry experience is a plus Education: ~ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Prior experience with ERP systems (Workday is a plus) Key Skills: Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Effective communication and interpersonal skills Team-oriented mindset Languages: ~ English (required) Duties & Responsibilities Perform month-end close procedures for assigned accounts and vessels, including preparation of journal entries and reconciliations (e.g., cash, prepaid insurance, accruals for purchase orders, payroll, and other expenses). Review and analyze financial results at the vessel and company level to ensure accuracy and completeness for reporting purposes. Collaborate with operations to obtain explanations for significant variances from prior periods, budget, and forecast. Assist in preparing weekly cash flow projections. Support the annual budgeting and reforecasting processes. Prepare schedules and respond to requests related to internal and external audits. Maintain accurate account reconciliations and support overall month-end procedures.
